"Building Tiny Homes for Vets" - Dave Wietrzak & Jimmy Miks
In this episode, Steve is joined by Dave Wietrzak & Jimmy Miks, both District 214 High School teachers (John Hersey HS & Rolling Meadows HS) for over 20 years.
Over the past few years they have teamed up with various organizations to build a program in the school district that involves students in the building of tiny homes for vets. This program gives students valuable skills and experiences that are rarely found in public schools. Furthermore, the homes they build give our disabled and less fortunate veterans a chance to get back on their feet and on the road to recovery.
